This project is to sell many B5-size drawings for 300 yen (about $3) each. It suggests anyone can buy and display art easily and investigates people’s reactions to art distribution. This project had been held at four different types of venues so far: (1) NADiff a/p/a/r/t, a bookstore specialized in art at the center of Tokyo, (2) Hane-to-kumo, a community space in the suburb of Tokyo, (3) Gallery Tsujirushi, a clothing store in the countryside, (4) E-commerce website for a limited period (http://yenpainting.theshop.jp).
The project was widely welcomed by the local audience in both urban and rural locations in Japan. Also, the plan succeeded in selling a total amount of about 1000 pieces. Moreover, this project was featured on a TV show by NHK.
